Pollen: a superfood at your service.

Pollen: a superfood at your service.

Many people may not be acquainted with the idea, linking pollen with certain types of spring allergies (incorrectly, as it is anemophilous pollen which is usually to blame for allergies); entomophilous pollen, however, is a natural superfood which can provide you with energy, health and wellness.

Basically, pollen grains are male cells responsible for the reproduction of plants, gathered by bees in order to be carried to their hives and serve as their main food. Pollen is a food rich in protein, of utmost importance to people who work out, but also beneficial to anyone who needs more energy in their everyday life.

In its fresh, damp form, in which it preserves most of its nutritional ingredients, we come across amino acids, carbohydrates, fatty acids and vitamins (A-B1-B2-B3-B5-B6-B12-C-D-E-H-K-PP), as well as mineral elements and enzymes.

“Its benefits to our health are numerous”.

In particular, apart from the allergies (for which not only it is not the cause but, on the contrary, aids in fighting off), it helps with problems such as seasonal hair loss, intestine problems, prostate, increased levels of cholesterol, hormonal disorders, pancreas and liver malfunction, hypertension, anorexia and obesity. Moreover, it significantly reinforces the immune system, shielding it against viral infections. Finally, due to its contribution to the organism’s general balance, pollen helps us look… prettier, as its beneficial effect does not concern only our interior, but our appearance as well.

Dosage: when in damp form, it is advisable to begin the consumption of pollen with one level teaspoon per day, until the stomach gets used to it. Subsequently, you can increase the dosage up to two teaspoons of pollen, while the maximum dosage is six teaspoons per day. It takes 2-4 months for the benefits of pollen to surface; however, it is certain that if you follow this program consistently, the difference will be distinctive.
